KTM 390 Adventure X Bookings Paused – Upcoming Model to Feature Complete Electronic Rider Aids

KTM 390 Adventure X Bookings Paused Ahead of Update with Advanced Rider Aids

KTM has temporarily paused bookings for the 390 Adventure X, as an updated version of the motorcycle is expected to launch in the coming weeks. Introduced in 2023 as a more affordable, road-biased alternative to the off-road-focused 390 Adventure, the 390 Adventure X has been priced at ₹2.91 lakh (ex-showroom). For comparison, the fully loaded 390 Adventure carries a higher price tag of ₹3.68 lakh.

The main distinction between the two models has been the electronic rider aids offered — something that is about to change significantly.

390 Adventure X to Get Full Suite of Electronic Aids

Currently, the KTM 390 Adventure X comes equipped with features like Off-road Mode and off-road ABS. The upcoming update will add a comprehensive suite of advanced electronic rider aids, aligning it more closely with the standard 390 Adventure.

The updated features will include:

  • Cornering ABS
  • Traction control
  • Multiple riding modes: Rain, Street, and Off-road

These riding modes allow the bike to adapt its power delivery, throttle response, and adjust ABS and traction control to suit different conditions.

New Cruise Control Feature

Another highlight of the upcoming update is cruise control, along with dedicated switchgear for easy operation. This feature will be especially appealing to riders who use their motorcycles for touring.

  • Riders can activate cruise control with a single button press.
  • Adjust speed using dedicated buttons.
  • Cruise control disengages automatically when braking and can re-engage when throttle is applied.

No Changes to Core Mechanical Setup

Despite the addition of advanced electronics, the core hardware of the KTM 390 Adventure X will remain unchanged:

  • Engine: 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine delivering 45 PS and 39 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
  • Chassis: Steel trellis frame.
  • Suspension:
    • Front: 43mm WP Apex USD forks (non-adjustable).
    • Rear: Preload-adjustable monoshock.

By contrast, the standard 390 Adventure features front forks adjustable for compression and rebound, and a rear monoshock adjustable for both preload and rebound.

With these upcoming updates, the KTM 390 Adventure X will become an even more compelling option for riders seeking a mix of affordability, versatility, and advanced technology.
