Hero MotoCorp Unveils Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Starting at ₹99,490 — As Low as ₹59,490 With BaaS
India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, has expanded its electric portfolio with the launch of the new Vida VX2. Positioned below the existing Vida V2 range, the VX2 aims to take on rivals like the Ola S1X, Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak 3001, and TVS iQube.
Pricing & Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) Option
The Vida VX2 starts at an ex-showroom price of ₹99,490. What makes it stand out is the option of India’s first Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, which reduces the upfront cost to just ₹59,490 (ex-showroom). Under the BaaS model, users pay a battery rental fee of ₹0.96 per km. This plan also offers access to Hero’s nationwide Vida fast-charging network throughout the subscription period.
Removable Batteries & Charging Convenience
Unlike models like the Honda Activa e, which rely on fixed battery swapping stations, the Vida VX2 is equipped with two removable batteries located under the seat. Owners can easily take them home or to the office for convenient charging.
Variants & Range
Marketed as an ‘EVOOTER’ for a ‘Badalte India’, the VX2 comes in two variants: VX2 Go and VX2 Plus.
- VX2 Go: Features a 2.2 kWh battery delivering a claimed range of 92 km per charge.
- VX2 Plus: Offers a larger 3.4 kWh battery with a range of 142 km per charge.
The VX2 Plus is priced at ₹1,09,990 (ex-showroom) without BaaS, or ₹64,990 (ex-showroom) with BaaS and the same rental fee per km.
Features & Technology
The VX2 range brings advanced tech to the segment:
- Real-time ride statistics and telemetry
- OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware updates
- A 4.3-inch LCD digital instrument cluster (VX2 Plus only) with Bluetooth, smartphone connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation
Additional highlights include:
- Fast charging from 0-80% in just 60 minutes
